Julian McWilliams Interviewed in the NY Times!!

Happy Jackie Robinson Day! Check out Brother Julian McWilliams' interview in the NY Times article "More Blacks in Management Would Be a True Robinson Tribute". Having been an extremely talented and credited player out of Harlem, NY who has made the transition to college athletics, Brother McWilliams was able to share his thoughts about young black athletes and the game of baseball. Kappa League College Visit

Today the Lambda Nupes hosted a group of 44 Kappa Leaguers from Chicago. The Kappa Leaguers were eager to see what Temple University's campus has to offer as they prepare to make their decisions about which colleges and universities they will attend.

Greek & Life Boutique Grand Opening This Saturday!

Congratulations to Brother Jordan Jackson (SP '06) who will be hosting the grand opening for his new business, Greek & Life Boutique, on Temple's Campus this weekend. Finally, you won't have to make that trip all the way down to Delaware to get your para. All are welcome to attend this opening event and save 15% on all merchandise!! Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

New Lambda Nupes in Kappa Headquarters

Congratulations to Brother Juilan McWilliams and Brother Brian Dillon for achieving internship positions down at Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Headquarters in October. These are privileged positions and difficult to obtain. Shoutout to the Lambda Nupes working to help brothers all across the nation. Special thanks goes out to Brother Andre Early.



It's That Time of Year Again

Welcome Week is back! Check out the Lambda Nupes all throughout the week. We will be hosting tables on each day of Temple Fest (Wednesday and Thursday) as well as helping out with FreshServe on Friday. Also, don't forget to check out the Chiddy Bang concert Saturday night at the Liacouras Center, hosted by Damon DeShields and see Brandon "B-Eazyyy" Smith perfom as the opening act!

Taking Leadership to the Next Level - May 1st

Lambda Chapter Polemarch, Ryan Thurston, and Strategus, Brian Dillon, have also accepted leadership roles on the executive board of the Temple University National Pan-Hellenic Council. Brian Dillon was elected as Vice President and Ryan Thurston as Secretary. Congratulations Nupes.

Congratulations to the Greek Man of the Year - May 3rd

Congratulations to Damon DeShields for winning the Temple University 2010-2011 Greek Man of the Year Award. He was selected for his performance and achievements as the president of National Pan-Hellenic Council. Congratulations.

Penn Relays Step Show 2011 - April 30th

The Lambda Nupes team up once more with the Delta Eta Nupes and compete at the 2011 Penn Relays Step Show. The Nupes put on a stellar performance as they took home second place. See the video below.

B-Eazy Opening up for J. Cole Next Week

Yes that's right...You're favorite Kappa's favorite rapper is opening up for J. Cole next Monday, May 1st. It's the last day of classes. It will be at the Temple Performing Arts Center. Hosted by Damon DeShields. Tickets on sale for $5 at the Liacouras Box Office.

Lambda Chapter Achievement Awards

The Lambda Chapter's hard work and impact on the Temple University and Philadelphia communities have not gone unnoticed. Due to all their hard work and dedication to the objectives of the fraternity, the Lambda Nupes have recieved two prestigious awards: the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Men of Rhoyalty Award and the runner up award for the 81st Northeatern Province Council Chapter of the Year. #Achievement.





Kappa Week - February 20th - 25th

The Lambda Nupes put on a successful Kappa Week, hosting a slew of programs for the campus. Thank you to all that came out to support and participated in making our programs a success. Thank you especially to those that performed in our Kove Kafe event and all of our Kappa League Brothers.



Brother Polemarch Award - February 19, 2011

Brother Anthony T. Powell Jr. was honored for his outstanding performance as the current Polemarch of the Lambda Chapter during the Lambda Chapter's 91st Anniversary Celebration. The award shown below was a gift from the current chapter to recognize his hard work and to show the chapter's appreciation. Good work Brother Polemarch.

Money…the one thing everybody wants and nobody has. Join us this night as we discuss ways to reduce expenses while in college, debt issues facing students in today’s recovering economy, and proper money management. Let us help you save a penny or two.

Tuesday, February 22nd-Women's Appreciation (Student Center: Underground-7:11pm)
This night is dedicated to all the beautiful ladies. Join us as we provide nail stylists and professionals to do your eyebrows. Also we will have experts from Mary Kay come in and show you the best way to do your own facials; products will be provided and some will be for sale.

Wednesday, February 23rd-Kove Kafe (Mitten Hall: Owl Kove-7:11pm)
This is our jazz club themed night. Nothing but a kool, kalm, and kollected atmosphere. We will provide performers of spoken word, poetry, singing, and anything else that can put your heart and soul at ease. You’ll also enjoy the hot chocolate and cookies. Interested in performing? Thursday, February 24th-African vs. African-American (Student Center: 200B-7:11pm)
This program will be done in conjunction with the Organization of African Student and the Black Student Union. We will be looking at cultural (relationships, stereotypes, etc.) differences between Africans and African-Americans and why they exist.

Friday, February 25th-Nupe Game Night (Student Center: Game Room-6-8pm)
Pool and Spades tournaments…enough said…come try your luck.

Congratulations to Spring 2009 initiates Jared Brabham and DeVon Robinson on their graduation from Temple University's School of Tourism & Hospitality and School of Communication & Theater respectively. Brother Brabham is currently working at the University of Pennsylvania as an event coordinator and Brother Robinson is completing an internship with a marketing firm in Pittsburgh, PA. Keep on achieving Nupes.
